Arabic Study Tour 2020: Qatar

This next upcoming year I’m switching my language. I have come to realize that Chinese isn’t the right language for me and that I would rather travel to a different country and explore a different culture. Sophomore year I would like to switch my language to Arabic and hopefully go on the study tour. On the Arabic study tours, Arabic students usually travel to Oman and Qatar. Because I don’t currently study Arabic but are looking forward to it in the future I’m going to expand my knowledge and your knowledge about Qatar. Today I will mainly talk about Qatar’s geography ad in future blogs, I will discuss other things like culture, customs, traditions, language, etc..

Qatar is a middle eastern country, It is an independent emirate located on the west coast of the Persian Gulf. It is a small peninsula, that is mainly rocky and flat. It has lots of sand; dunes, beaches, desserts. Within Qatar, there are no permanent rivers, lakes or fresh bodies of water. Along the coast of Qatar is the capital, Doha. Doha is known for its futuristic skyscrapers and other modern architecture inspired by ancient Islamic design.

Should Women Be Allowed To Compete Against Men in Sports?

Should Women Be Allowed To Compete Against Men in Sports? Today my blog will be talking about if women and men should be able to play or compete against each other in sports. Many people believe that women should not compete against men because of their "physicality." I believe that this is not a valid excuse for why women cannot compete against men. For example, in most sports, players who are stronger and more physically fit hold some advantage, but players with a higher skill level are overall much stronger in their sport. While men and women differ in physicality, I don't believe that because of there differences, women are less superior and not worthy of playing against men. In professional sports, the level of skill should outweigh physicality and looks.  But would women be chosen for men's sports teams if they weren't good enough? I believe that if men and women played on teams together and were not judged based on gender, physicality, race, or rel...

Time Managment Skills

Hey guys! Today’s blog is going to be about time management ; how to manage your time and time management skills. I personally struggle with managing my time well, I leave everything off till the last minute even this blog post, haha. I have a very busy schedule and leave most of the things I need to do until the very last minute. So today I will be talking about what skills are required to be a good time manager and how to actually manage your time.  Being a good time manager comes naturally to some but not all, so sometimes you need to talk about the skills needed to manage your time wisely. An important skill to accomplish this is organization . Being organized can reduce the stress and help you maintain a clear picture of what you need to complete and when you need to complete it. Being organized could also mean working in a tidy and productive space, knowing what you need to do, and having good information to complete what you need to do.  Another crucial skill to bei...

Should College Athletes Get Paid?

Should College Athletes Get Paid? This is an ongoing and never-ending argument. Many people have different opinions, I believe that college athletes should not get paid by the NCAA.  The NCAA brings in about 1 billion dollars yearly. Many people believe that some of that money should go towards paying College Athletes, and I disagree. College athletes gain many things from playing in the NCAA. They are provided with the best training and practice facilities, the best trainers and coaches, gift bags with very expensive gifts, newer housing, and even sometimes full-ride scholarships.  Colleges get the best training and practice facilities that money can buy. College football teams try to equip their programs with the latest and greatest upgrades, the greatest example is the University of Alabama's facilities. They house 37,000-square-feet, $9 million weight room, Tuscaloosa offers everything and more a player needs to succeed. They even have a few waterfalls in the hydrot...
