Updated: Should College Atheltes Get Paid?

Hey guys! I hope everyone is healthy and is not too bored in quarantine! Back in September, I did a blog about whether college athletes should be paid. Back then I thought that college athletes shouldn't get paid but after reading some articles and watching some college athletes on youtube, my opinion has definitely changed.  Recently there have been some articles that emerged stating that in the year of 2021 the NCAA intends to allow collegiate athletes to earn compensation. Back in September I probably would have thought that this isn't right but after really thinking hard about it my opinion has changed. In my previous blog, I said that college athletes shouldn't get paid because they receive scholarships, the best athletic facilities, trainers, and training, they also receive gifts and free merchandise. But when you really break it down they receive many things but they also have lots of restrictions. I stated previously that many collegiate athletes get "full r...

Hey guys back with another blog! Ever since the nationwide shut down because of the recently emerged pandemic, Coronavirus, life has been very different. Hopefully, you are doing everything to make sure you and your family are safe. This pandemic is a very tough time that could be very aggravating and annoying. If you are already bored here are some things that you could try doing uring your coronaction.  ARE YOU FEELING BORED OR LAZY DURING QUARANTINE? Something that I have done during this quarantine is rearranged, organized and deep cleaned my room. With “spring cleaning” coming up, you could get a little head start and make sure the space that you now spend lots of time in is a place that is clean and organized. This is something that could take up a good amount of time to keep you entertained for multiple hours or even a few days.   Another very productive activity is to workout.  Over this quarantine, it is very important to stay healthy, and one of ...

Arabic Study Tour 2020: Qatar

This next upcoming year I’m switching my language. I have come to realize that Chinese isn’t the right language for me and that I would rather travel to a different country and explore a different culture. Sophomore year I would like to switch my language to Arabic and hopefully go on the study tour. On the Arabic study tours, Arabic students usually travel to Oman and Qatar. Because I don’t currently study Arabic but are looking forward to it in the future I’m going to expand my knowledge and your knowledge about Qatar. Today I will mainly talk about Qatar’s geography ad in future blogs, I will discuss other things like culture, customs, traditions, language, etc..  Qatar is a middle eastern country, It is an independent emirate located on the west coast of the Persian Gulf. It is a small peninsula, that is mainly rocky and flat. It has lots of sand; dunes, beaches, desserts. Within Qatar, there are no permanent rivers, lakes or fresh bodies of water. Along the coast of Qatar ...

Making 2020 THE Year: New Year's Resolutions

Hey Guys, Happy New Year!! In honor of the new year and new decade, I’m going to be talking about my new years’ resolutions or what I plan on doing to make 2020 my year. When I think of a new year I think of a fresh start, a new page. It’s a great opportunity to put everything behind us and create a new mindset for ourselves. There are many things that I would like to work on not only this year but for the rest of the decade. One of them being quitting bad habits such as; procrastination, swearing, eating unhealthy, having a bad sleep schedule, the list could go on. We acquire all these bad habits with the repetition of behavior. When a person keeps doing something over and over certain neural pathways are activated in our brains and it becomes much easier for the brain to do the same thing again. To try to break these bad habits just try not doing them anymore. I know sounds simple, but when you really have to commit it becomes pretty tricky. But what I’m trying to say is try going ...

Time Managment Skills

Hey guys! Today’s blog is going to be about time management ; how to manage your time and time management skills. I personally struggle with managing my time well, I leave everything off till the last minute even this blog post, haha. I have a very busy schedule and leave most of the things I need to do until the very last minute. So today I will be talking about what skills are required to be a good time manager and how to actually manage your time.  Being a good time manager comes naturally to some but not all, so sometimes you need to talk about the skills needed to manage your time wisely. An important skill to accomplish this is organization . Being organized can reduce the stress and help you maintain a clear picture of what you need to complete and when you need to complete it. Being organized could also mean working in a tidy and productive space, knowing what you need to do, and having good information to complete what you need to do.  Another crucial skill to bei...

Since fall and school are now in full set, I’m starting to miss summer and all the great adventures that come w ith it. So today's blog is going to be about where I want to travel in the future. I have always loved traveling, and have especially traveled a lot this past year, and am hoping to do the same this upcoming year. The first destination on my list is Greece. Greece is first on my list to travel because it is not only a beautiful place to travel but it is also so rich in culture.
